Kevin Bell is a songwriter in the acoustic folk tradition. An Anglo Irish background flavours his music and playing style. But there are also American influences that animate and inform historical themes. The six-string guitar and the twelve-string guitar are to the fore. The harmonica also has a role to play. He has done floor-spots in Ireland and the UK. But these have been rare public outings. In recent years he performed several times at TwickFolk. Only now is he going public with a début album of fourteen original songs. It is called, Answers For The Brave…At the same time he is publishing a book of his poems. A war artist has worked with him and some of her paintings are included. It will be available online and via most good bookshops. A donation from each sale will go to the Army Widows Association. The book is called: Where the Wild Poppies Grow…
This will be your first opportunity to buy the album and to hear an extended set by one of our finest resident songwriters.
N.B. This will be a ‘TwickFolk Showcase’ night where guests perform one 45 minute set preceded by floor spots.
