Kevin Bell is a songwriter in the acoustic folk tradition. An Anglo Irish background flavours his music and playing style. But there are also American influences that animate and inform historical themes. The six-string guitar and the twelve-string guitar are to the fore. The harmonica also has a role to play. He has done floor-spots in Ireland and the UK. But these have been rare public outings. In recent years he performed several times at TwickFolk. Last year he went public public with a début album of fourteen original songs. It is called, Answers For The Brave…At the same time he is published a book of his poems. A war artist has worked with him and some of her paintings are included. It will be available online and via most good bookshops. A donation from each sale will go to the Army Widows Association. The book is called: Where the Wild Poppies Grow…
This will be your first opportunity to hear an extended set by one of our finest resident songwriters.
N.B. This will be a ‘TwickFolk Showcase’ night where guests perform one 45 minute set preceded by floor spots.
