Kara Grainger grew up in the suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales and at the age of 16 formed a band. Umpteen years later, she’s still got a band but lives in Nashville.

Combining tasteful blues and slide guitar, soulful vocals and a heartfelt approach to songwriting, Kara builds on her early influences of Memphis blues and Stax Records and New Orleans blues to encompass the LA scene where she lived and recorded before moving to Nashville.

Her debut solo album, “Grand and Green River” received critical acclaim and remained in the top 30 of the Americana Charts for 38 straight weeks in 2008. Having planned to just stay a year in the US, Grainger instead made it her base, and recorded her next three records there.

For TwickFolk, Kara takes a break from the full band shows of her summer tour and will be performing solo, for a more intimate experience.

Craig Joiner has been a professional musician for over 25 years, writing songs recorded by the likes of Heart, Bonnie Tyler, Eddie Money and Steps. Surprisingly, 2019 marks the first ever Craig Joiner solo album. Craig’s musical journey began in 1987 as a member of Romeo’s Daughter. Their self-titled debut on Jive Records was produced by the legendary Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange (Def Leppard, The Cars, ACDC, Shania Twain) and spawned a whirlwind tour of the USA and an appearance on the Billboard charts.
As a session player Craig also has an impressive list of names he has recorded for including Tom Jones. In recent years Craig has been a stalwart of the Folk Club scene where he has gained an impressive following and where he honed the songs for the long awaited solo debut album ‘Art of Landing’.
