Last month we lost a good friend and fellow volunteer / committee member, John Crook. Several of us attended a lovely funeral service for John last Thursday, at which, his family asked for donations to the Mulberry Centre, a local charity which offers support to anyone affected by cancer – further details below.

We have decided to dedicate our scheduled singers’ night to John’s memory, and to give all of the proceeds to the Mulberry Centre. It would be great to have as many supporters of the club as possible coming along that night – maybe including some of you who usually only come to guest nights – to listen, or to participate in any way you wish, perhaps by reading poetry or prose, playing a tune or doing a dance! The term “singers’ night” encompasses all forms of artistic expression!

We normally charge £3 per head entry on regular singers’ nights, but we hope that, in the circumstances, you will be generous in your donations to a very good cause, in John’s memory.
