New York based Jean Rohe and Liam Robinson were brought together a decade ago by a love of participatory music-making and American and Anglo folk song. Together they shared this love with others in living rooms, concert venues, festivals, and celebrations, honing their skills as songleaders and balladeers.

In 2013, Jean and Liam reinvented their collaboration. As the duo Robinson & Rohe they began cowriting an ever-expanding repertoire of original music that now lives alongside the old songs they hold dear. Both accomplished songwriters in their own rights, Jean (guitar, singing) and Liam (banjo, accordion, singing) let their finely crafted songs shine in detailed arrangements and elegant harmonies.

Whether in small clubs or on festival stages, their performances are intimate gatherings in which listeners are invited to share in the music-making.

The top video was recorded at Earthworks Harvest Gathering, 2016. this one is from The Owl Music Parlor, Aug 17, 2017:

TwickFolk’s John On Sound saw Jude Roberts play at The Harrington a couple of years ago and has been clamouring to get him to TwickFolk ever since. This emerging Americana artist lives in America’s most famous small town- Woodstock, NY- a musically supportive and socially vibrant place for many songwriters, past and present. In Jude’s sound one can hear influences of English, Irish and Appalachian folk music. Listening deeper, one can find the impressions of baroque and Romance era classical pieces and European folk/pop. A unique amalgam of style and talent, Jude Roberts draws the listener inward and invites them to dive in deep.
