Presenting live acoustic music in Twickenham most Sundays, at Patchworks, The Cabbage Patch pub, 2 minutes from Twickenham Station

TwickFolk has been presenting live music in South West London since January 1983. We are now one of the best-known and most highly respected hosts of live acoustic, folk, blues and Americana in South East England. We aim to book the best quality acts across a broad range of genres – traditional and contemporary music from Britain, Europe and beyond. Doors open at 7.45pm, for music at 8pm. The Cabbage Patch serves a selection of real ales and craft beers alongside everything you’d expect of a pub, including food.

Coming up at TwickFolk:

31 March: Singaround: Informal, unplugged song circle

Instrument Tree

Another of our popular singaround evenings.

Expect anything from sea shanties to psychedelia, with a mix of original songs, traditional songs and covers of well known and less known songs.
Some performers will take requests on the night.

If you fancy a go at singing in public, then this is the place to start.

If you just want to sit back and listen, that’s also fine. In fact listening, and paying attention to the words and music, is what an evening of folk is all about.

We welcome anyone with a song or a tune to play. Or a poem or a story tell. Expect a warm welcome and a supportive ring of singers and audience.

Non-performers are welcome to come and there is no need to pre-book.

14 April: Bella Gaffney & Dan Webster, with Emily Lawler + Adam Cooney

Bella Gaffney writes folk inspired songs which she performs along with her own original arrangements of traditional pieces. 2023 saw the release of ‘Reflections’, showcasing her exceptional guitar, banjo, and vocals. The album is inspired by connections made over the lockdown period. ‘Blood in the Earth’, a duet with Leesa Gentz (Hussy Hicks), was released in this year to great acclaim along with airplay on BBC radio 2. The 2016 Celtic Connections Danny Kyle Award winner, Bella is also part of sought after folk band The Magpies.

‘Great singer, great guitarist, really interesting songwriter’ Mike Harding

Dan Webster is a road-seasoned English singer-songwriter and guitarist, his music is influenced by the sounds and storytelling traditions of Americana, which he uniquely melds with an honest Northern English perspective in his songwriting. His sound is unashamedly influenced by the US – his heart remains a Yorkshireman’s. Dan is a formidable live performer – inspiring attention; pulling you into his work with finely crafted melodies and lyrics – delivered with a powerful and honest vocal.

Christina Alden & Alex Patterson are multi-instrumentalists and songwriters from East Anglia. Their music is rich with intertwining harmony, sensitive accomplished musicianship and a creative song-writing style that is both delicate and moving. Deeply inspired by the world around them, they have a keen environmental eye to craft stories with the natural world at its heart, reflecting on the relationship between humans and the wild.

They have toured extensively in the UK and Europe; including a twenty-three-date concert hall tour with Show of Hands (including Union Chapel and St David’s Hall Cardiff), a show at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall for Celtic Connections, headline and main stage performances at some of the UK’s most prestigious folk festivals and performances in Norway, Belgium, France and Ireland. They have written and self-released four albums, and composed music for a BBC Radio 4 documentary series.
